The main library in Dorado provides a variety of activities and courses for all ages in the school year months of August through May, with summer activities for children in June and July and a two-week break for the holidays of December and January. 

 

Volunteer Program

​

Volunteer Program provides valuable help to the library as well as an important job experience for the students while they satisfy their required community service hours.  Volunteers help others in the computer labs, tutor in the afterschool Math sessions, and collaborate with our programs.  They shelve books and handle other library tasks, serving as Lego program assistants or Summer workshop helpers during the summer.

 

Requirements:

• An endorsement from a teacher, guidance counselor, or parent/caregiver.

• The means to get to the library and get home.  JSDCL cannot provide transportation.
